The Field Trip Committee has an exciting year full of photographic opportunities planned for 2010. Please keep in mind some plans are subject to change with little notice due to weather, cancellations, and/or unforeseen emergencies . Please check the website forum for updated information.
When we take a trip that calls for carpooling, we will meet at the Cultural Arts Center at the specified time. Check the website, especially the forum for any changes.
Our next Field Trip may be to Sweetwater Creek Ranch where we will have the opportunity to photograph newborn lambs (time depends on when the sheep give birth). One of our fellow members, Sandy Belk, owns the farm and has invited us to come for a field trip. She and her husband raise Old English "Babydoll" Southdown Sheep--what she says is a big name for a miniature sheep. According to Sandy, they have babies once a year in the late Winter or early Spring. You may check out their website at: http://www.sweetwatercreekranchga.com Sandy also says, the farm is muddy this time of the year so wear muck boots if you've got them. The flood hit them hard so there is very little green. Weather permitting, we can go on the pasture to photograph. Sandy also said she would set up a place in the barn for photos so you can bring your children to pose with the lambs. Keep checking out our website for updates. Thank you so much Sandy Belk this sounds like we will have a great time and lots of photo ops. The farm is located at: 1221 Lester Road, Douglasville, GA 30134 |
