Upcoming Field Trip

March Field Trip: Rednation Pow-Wow

The 6th Annual Rednation Pow-Wow will be held March 20-21, 2010 at the Clinton Nature Preserve in Winston, Georgia.

The location of the Clinton Nature Preserve is 8702 Ephesus Church Road.  If you take I-20 west to Post Road and then take a left at the exit, you won't get lost. :)

There is a small charge for admission, which is $5 for ages 12-55, $3 for 55+, and $3 for kids 5-12.  Children under 5 are free.

The Rednation Pow-Wow provides an excellent opportunity to photograph many dancers, and their Grand Entrance ceremonies are always inspiring.  My family has attended the Pow-Wow the past two years and we have always had a great time.  There are walking trails on the preserve too, which allow for more nature photography as well.

Gates are open from 10am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday with the Grand Entry held at noon on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.

Charles Needle Creative Nature Workshop coming to Atlanta in early April, 2010
By Stella Spyrou

Hope your New Year is off to a great start!
I'm thrilled to announce that registration is now open for two of my
"Creative Macro Intensive" photography workshops....one in Seattle and one in Atlanta!

The session in Atlanta will be held at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, April
7-11, 2010.  And the session in Seattle will be held at the privately owned
7-acre Olmsted-designed garden oasis, Dunn Gardens, April 21-25, 2010.

In addition to access to each of these colorful Spring gardens, I will have
a large variety of "props" available for your unlimited usage....fun "toys"
such as iridescent glass, stained glass, textured glass, mylar, shells,
colored backgrounds, glass objects, cut flowers, potted flowers, and a whole
lot more!  You'll feel like a child again, exploring all the many
possibilities within your viewfinder.

The 3 1/2 day workshops also will include lectures, demos (with "studio"
set-ups), assignments to challenge you, supportive group image evaluations
and lots of individualized instruction both in the field and in our
"classroom garden studio."

I will share some of my secrets learned after 10+ years of shooting macro.
And we'll even cover special creative camera techniques to help you create
more "Impressionistic" images.

Please let me know if you'd like to reserve a spot in either of these
classes.  I expect both sessions to fill quickly, as these are among my most
popular workshops every year.  The early-bird registration deadline for both
workshops is Feb. 15, 2010.

You can learn more about these two workshops, as well as the rest of my 2010
offerings, at <http://www.charlesneedlephoto.com/workshops.html>.

Spring is just around the corner, and these two "Creative Macro Photography
Intensive" workshops certainly will inspire you to take your close-up
photography to the next level.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Happy image-making!

Best regards,

Charles

P.S.  There are still a few openings in my "Callaway Gardens in Springtime"
workshop, March 28-April 2, 2010.  I will be co-teaching this popular
workshop with my dear friend and colleague, Mark Johnson, who is one of this
country's foremost Photoshop experts.  The early-bird deadline for this
workshop has been extended to February 15, 2010.
