Upcoming Field Trip

March Field Trip: Rednation Pow-Wow

The 6th Annual Rednation Pow-Wow will be held March 20-21, 2010 at the Clinton Nature Preserve in Winston, Georgia.

The location of the Clinton Nature Preserve is 8702 Ephesus Church Road.  If you take I-20 west to Post Road and then take a left at the exit, you won't get lost. :)

There is a small charge for admission, which is $5 for ages 12-55, $3 for 55+, and $3 for kids 5-12.  Children under 5 are free.

The Rednation Pow-Wow provides an excellent opportunity to photograph many dancers, and their Grand Entrance ceremonies are always inspiring.  My family has attended the Pow-Wow the past two years and we have always had a great time.  There are walking trails on the preserve too, which allow for more nature photography as well.

Gates are open from 10am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday with the Grand Entry held at noon on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.

savannahsquare1With this workshop you get it all - an amazing cross section of Savannah and its surrounding areas.   With shoots of historic Savannah, beaches, night scenes and night life, cemeteries, parks, old plantations and lighthouses, this is one workshop that is sure to please.

Immortalized by the best seller, 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,' Savannah is an 18th century village that lives resolutely in the present.  The city brings together an exotic history, a sub-tropical natural environment and an obvious desire to keep true to its Southern traditions.  Savannah is arguably one of the South's

From Greg Ferguson to the Sweetwater Camera Club:

Just wanted to let you know about an exciting trip I have coming up. My wife's sister, Irene Croft, who has organized three or four large trips per year for 25 years, has put together a fabulous 17 night cruise to Antarctica in January, 2011 on Silversea Cruise line, the top cruise line in the world. We will sail on Silversea Cruises' luxury Prince Albert II, a marvelous little 132-passenger expedition ship designed and outfitted to carry guests into the Antarctic in unparalleled style and comfort. The fare—common to all Antarctica voyages—is higher than traditional land and cruise journeys. However, she added tremendous value to our program with many unexpected extras, such as an all-inclusive three-day pre-cruise sojourn in enchanting Buenos Aires. Click here for a PDF brochure.
